SCROLL FOR THE DEFINITIONTRUSTEDTRUCKSN 52.52° / E 13.40°
01DefinitionSmart Freight Centre (SFC)

The global industry standard for calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions across multi-modal logistics supply chains.

01 / CANONICAL DEFINITION

What it means.

The Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework provides a harmonized methodology for logistics greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting. It establishes standard emission factors, allocation principles, and reporting boundaries for road, rail, air, and maritime freight operations, enabling consistent calculation of Well-to-Wheel (WTW) carbon emissions per transport shipment.

02 / ROLE IN TRUSTEDTRUCKS

Where it is used.

Powers the core calculation engine for all freight shipments on TrustedTrucks. Telematics data, vehicle load factors, empty running legs, and verified fuel consumption are dynamically converted into GLEC-compliant carbon footprints and certified on-chain.

03 / TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

E = W * I_WTW, where W is transport work in tonne-kilometers (tkm) and I_WTW is the Well-to-Wheel emission intensity factor (g CO2e/tkm). Accounts for empty running attribution and cold-chain reefer energy consumption.

04 / WHAT IT MUST NOT IMPLY

Read it carefully.

Must not be described as a regulatory carbon credit issuer or statutory offset authority. GLEC defines calculation and allocation methodologies, not statutory cap-and-trade allowances.
